The supposed "global cooling" consensus among scientists in the 1970s — frequently offered by global-warming skeptics as proof that climatologists can't make up their minds — is a myth, according to a survey of the scientific literature of the era. The '70s was an unusually cold decade. Newsweek, Time, The New York Times and National Geographic published articles at the time speculating on the causes of the unusual cold and about the possibility of a new ice age. But Thomas Peterson of the National Climatic Data Center surveyed dozens of peer-reviewed scientific articles from 1965 to 1979 and found that only seven supported global cooling, while 44 predicted warming. Peterson says 20 others were neutral in their assessments of climate trends. Endnu en gang i ring, men på en ny måde.The '70s was an unusually cold decadeand the '00 is an unususlly warm decade, so what ? Uanset om det er alarmister eller skeptikere, der tager det til indtægt for noget som helst, er det forkert ( som CBH nok ville sige "vrøvl"). I det sidste par tusind år har klimaet varieret med en periode på ca. 500 år. Vejret derimod varierer meget mere og meget hurtigere, men endnu har vistnok ingen kunnet påvise periodicitet. og derfor ER det altså nødvendigt at reagere på udviklingen... - tjaeh, eller: ...Thus we have the reasoning as to why the science issues on Climate Science have been mostly ignored - the issue is not about climate science. The goal is to use the term "global warming" (with "climate change" used to make the concept cover all aspects of climate) not to "motivate" change, but to force the public and policymakers to adopt specific policy and political actions that promotes particular agendas. - læs mere her. |
